So, I fell behind on my global updates because this article that I did for Summer Camp Prompt #13: A War that Expanded Territory, and it's the centerpiece of the current story in my campaign - The Kalee-Yam'rii Conflict. It also made me realize I missed a key event in my timeline when writing the articles for Qymaen jai Sheelal and Gekikō‑butai, so I had to go back and edit them. Now that I've taken the time to do that, we're back on track. Happy camping!

3rd article for #SummerCamp2026. I've marked it as 18+ given its discussion on fertility, I am actually unsure if it needs to be marked that way, there isn't anything explicit, I think. Anyway, the moon, werewolves, and fertility, what isn't there to love!? I plan to update this article to include non-fertility related effects as well (added to to-do list).

Hey everyone! Take a look at the first article I'm posting for the Worldbuilding Summer Camp this year!
In a harsh, arid savanna in Kerine, communities have realized that they cannot sustain themselves as their population grows. As a result, they formed an order of warriors made up of the elder, more battle-hardened warriors of their settlements named The Bones of Isaar, named for their sacrifice and the one who formed the order. They essentially swear off resources that might eventually go to the people of their home, and wander the savanna protecting their people until they eventually perish from the harsh conditions.
Its my take on the prompt "A faction that employs questionable methods for the love of their people." Its a bit of fantasy dystopia with some Nights Watch vibes from GoT too. Take a look if you have a chance!

Also, the other day, I completely reworked the Legends of the Dragonguard's homepage! It's so much cooler now, and it's what I've wanted it to be like for a while! Summer Camp Ready!
I finally am back and ready to destroy!!
Actually though, I am so happy to be back on WA, this time with a structured plan of attack instead of just throwing word spaghetti at the wall. I'm ready to write, I'm ready to get feral, and I'm so excited to post my special announcement for real!
There's still a lot to do, so it will be a long way out, but just thinking about it makes me itch to write!

Summer Camp is next weekend? My EIGHTH Summer Camp??? Oh my goodness! But hey, at least I've finished my homework nice and early!
I've got lots of prep and planning left to do behind the scenes, but I have my ideas flowing around all of the themes, and the feral energy is building and building... WHAT WILL WE WRITE NEXT WEEK??? WHAT WONDERS WILL JULY BRING US ALL?
I look forward to finding all of that out together!
I won't be going for another Iron Gorge year, but I will still be streaming all Summer Camp! My tentative schedule is outlined in my prep article in week 3 :)

Gift the second is what I'm calling the altscotch, or alternative hopscotch. Summer Camp Prep this year is in the style of hopscotch, with each week having a new set of 7 tasks. The hopscotch is adorable but the prep tasks weren't working for me. So I created an alternative set of tasks that are more thematic.
If you're struggling with the official tasks or just want to check out some alternatives, you can find my altscotch at the link below. I'll be writing more on my own prep throughout the week, and adding to the altscotch once the fourth and final theme is revealed on Saturday.
Some of you may recall voting for what future guide I should write. A guide on navigation was the winner, and I'm now over halfway done that article. I won't promise an ETA, but it's coming Soon(tm)!

Welcome to Camp Chill! Come join!
Once next month starts up, one of the biggest challenges here on World Anvil does as well! Summer Camp is a month-long prompt bonanza. It's a creative marathon! To help people all the way to the finish line, I started a camp called Camp Chill. Camp Chill is about sustainable Summer-Camping, preserving our joy, and having a great time together. You can pledge for any badge you want and still be Camp Chill. We've all got our own pace!
Camp Chill was started in 2022, with a set of guidelines written to help people enjoy a Summer Camp where the fire stays lit all month. We're bringing the s'mores, the ice cream for when it gets too hot, fire extinguishers for potential burnout, and we pledge, above all, to have a good time!
If you want to join up, all you have to do is decide to join! A lot of people have chosen to add the awesome badge Rin Garnett made to their pledge or elsewhere on their world. You can do that too by using the ID 4574878. It's not required, but c'mon! It's a badge! Who doesn't love a badge?
I'll share the camp chill tenets below:
- Remember the prompts are suggestions, not requirements
- Write what you're passionate about, leave what you aren't
- Relax when you feel tired
- Fight off any pesky brain-squitos trying to make you doubt your work
- Don't abandon your non-summer camp goals! Write that article you're itching to write, even if it doesn't fit any prompts

Come prep for Summer Camp with me!
Weeks 1 and 2 of the Summer Camp prep are all done, and I'm so excited for the challenge to begin! I've been eagerly waiting for months, gnawing at the bars of my cage. While I'm waiting, I've been updating my Yonderverse Glossary - It's already gigantic, and I've not even scratched the surface! (8,000+ words so far, and less than 200/1947 articles have been checked for needed references)
What's everyone's Summer Camp goals? Diamond, like me, or something else? I'm really excited to write lots of small articles to hit that badge, because I think it'll be difficult for me to write as much, this year. But I've got high hopes!

I'm using this Summercamp to kick off a new world. An idea that initially came from a dream I had about a witch magically trapped for hundreds of years in a gargoyle atop an old church. Modern gothic horror maybe. Will see how it progresses over Summercamp.

I can't stop smiling!
Summer Camp has wrapped up, and I’m still buzzing with excitement! This year, my world of Crux Umbra was honored with three article category awards and the Community Award for Most Inspiring World - a truly unforgettable recognition.
While winning is amazing, what really made this experience special were the people who shared it with me.
I want to give a heartfelt thank you to:
- Tyrdal, my accountability buddy, who kept me on track and made sure I didn’t lose momentum.
- Keon, who cheered my world more than anyone else and lifted my spirits with extra motivation when I needed it most.

The Cherry on Top
After earning a hard fought silver badge for Summer Camp this year, I was prepared to be content with that. With only sixteen articles, I wasn't sure the odds were in my favor for snagging an award, too. Luckily, I was wrong, and one of my more polished entries was chosen as winner in its category.
Answering the prompt "a ritual that has changed meaning over time," it delves into the popular Poliran holiday, Gloaming. Set on an intercalary day that doesn't seem to fit anywhere, Gloaming is a fun-filled celebration centered on liminality which stands everything on its head for a little bit .

Adieu, Summer Camp 2025
Choosing a winner for my category was tough. It came down to spelling. Always spellcheck, even if you don't think you'll win!
The Spectral Wall was an interesting idea for a never-done structure.
And I won the "transformation caused by a celestial body!" Thank you to the wondrous Strixxline for choosing Sun's Tan as the winning article! This SC was a difficult one for me, as my father's health declined this summer (and he's now in home hospice). I'm so happy one made the final cut, as it makes my choice of a specific article to dedicate to him easy.
I'd also like to thank everyone who read my articles, liked them, and/or shared them for the reading challenge. I appreciate your support! <3 I thought Blue Fairy 74's reading article was everything a SC summary should be.

Summer Camp is officially OVER!
Massive congratulations to all of the winners this Summer Camp! Tough competition this year. It was so nice to see such a variety in unique authors winning, but props to Imagica, for winning three prompts and Most Inspiring World, with Crux Umbra!
I'm super happy to have won a prompt, myself! My Magical Surge article brought me a win this year, and I'm very proud of that. Unfortunately this wasn't one of my better years in Summer Camp, I'm not feeling overly proud of my work as a whole.
The rules I initially set for myself at the beginning of the event pushed me to my limits, causing me to struggle just one week into the competition. That led me to basically flop about the rest of July and August, struggling to write anything truly meaningful. Next year I'm going to go back to what I do best, which is writing shorter, concise articles. I've been told I write short articles well, which reassures me!
And now we have a fun new challenge to look forward to! Elves VS Aliens? I'm Team Aliens, which one are you?

Well folks, it’s finally ready! It took me a while, but I managed to finish my reading challenge article just before the deadline. Cheers!
I tried to read as many submissions as I could from the hundreds of wonderful creators on this platform. It was a fun experience, though the time limit did stress me out a bit. I’m hoping to set aside more time over the next few weeks to enjoy even more of your stories.

Answering "A charity dedicated to helping those in need" is a humanitarian organization dedicated with the difficult task of helping the citizens of the crime-ridden Hantengo Sector.
For "A species that feeds through a symbiotic relationship" are the gentle tree-folk who see the practice of symbiosis as religious and sacred.
For the prompt, "A city many people want to visit", is the largest city in Auxul; the heart of the world and a melting pot of different cultures and ideas.
Answering the prompt, "A place people aren't supposed to go", are the Gates, heavily guarded, ancient portals that offer the only method of travelling between the Upside and Downside.
And finally, for the "A war that resulted in the creation of something new" prompt is a brutal event where angels and demons devoured scores of souls. --- As of writing this, I am currently busy with a game jam; my very first one, at that :D Because of this, I won't be doing the reading challenge.

Greetings from Costa Rica!
I wasn’t quite prepared for this #summercamp2025 experience. The first week, I was incredibly motivated, but by the second week, I completely lost my drive and couldn't bring myself to write. In the third week, I flew to Costa Rica for a month and, honestly, writing slipped off my radar entirely. However, during the fourth week, I made a decision to finish strong. Today, on the last day, I’m proud to say I’ve submitted my final article! What a rollercoaster ride it’s been!

Broken Dulcet Chs 61-Epilogue are Live! and I've Almost Reached Gold!

Lapis has no idea what to feel, now that the Dentherion Empire's influence in Jilvayna has come to an abrupt end. Midir also has an offer she cannot refuse.
It's been a ride, all! Here ends the Jilvayna Chronicles arc of Lapis of Nicodem. We'll start Re-cast, the first book in the Chaser Chronicles, sometime in September. Lapis and Patch join the new government, the Wolf Collaborate, as chasers, and their stakes will be those who escaped justice for the ills they wrought on Jilvayna, as well as discovering what, exactly, Mesaalle Kez wants.
And, as with all chapters of this serial, the next book will continue to be FREE to read here at Manuscripts, our wonderful World Anvil writing platform.

My first Summer Camp Journey!
I had promised myself to go for gold. Somehow I managed to write 32 articles earning that shinny diamond badge in the end!
Summer Camp was so much more than I expected: exhausting, uplifting, and absolutely unforgettable. Full of madness and magic! I talked and got to know better some amazing people, met some new, awakened the badge goblin inside me, and poured my heart into every word.
I decided to make this hub article to hold my first ever Summer Camp journey, all in one place. Some articles are not fully where I want them yet, some are more polished, but I assure you all are made with love. If any of them make you feel something, I'd love to know.

The Yonderverse has hit 1 million words!!
Y'all, I don't even know what to say. I've been working so hard on the Yonderverse since I joined World Anvil, 4 years, 4 months, and a week ago. AKA 1,590 days ago.
That's an average of 628 words per day. Not entirely accurate, considering I've missed many days here and there, but I've been pretty darn consistent with this project, taking a week off at most from it at any one time.
I can't thank people enough for supporting my silly little project. Guess I can't call it little anymore! But seriously though, the Yonderverse is by far the best thing I've ever created. I've never given up this much time and effort on a single project, and it is easily the most impressive thing I've achieved.
Like, I've created a world. Everything you read is mine, I've written this. I've thought of hundreds of interesting planets, peoples, thousands of creatures, created conflicts, love, between characters and organisations. Sometimes I stop and think about it, and I realise just how powerful being a worldbuilder is.
But yeah, I'm so excited! I can't wait to see where this world goes. Last night I hit Diamond in this year's Summer Camp, so I'll be polishing my existing entries until the deadline. While I'm judging my prompt, I'll be working on some exciting commissions I've got right now! Aaaand while I'm doing both of those, I'm hopping right back into the Yonderverse Overhaul and polishing up all the old, crap parts of my world. I'll be making more time to write brand new content while I'm polishing old stuff, as I need to find a better balance. But that's next month's problem!

Hello everyone!
This is my second year in this lovely, amazing community but first ever post - so it's only fitting that it's all about Summer Camp. When we all began this month of creativity I'd been stuck in a writer's block for ages and nothing felt fun anymore. My novel was stuck. My words never came out right. It's been a little bleak, but the support I found with you all gave me the energy to take my notebook into the forest and start to write. Why was I stuck? What questions remained that I wasn't sure of? What other corners could I flee to when the main setting felt too overwhelming? Enter Summer Camp!
A copper badge has become a silver one and while I hope I can keep going towards gold, I also have a film to shoot all week heh. This is my progress so far and I hope they're worth something, they sure are to me. Especially the Nyrrah. I'd love to meet one in real life.

Ok I set myself five goals for #SummerCamp2025 , three of which are in my complete control. I am happy and proud to report I have met the first of my goals. Diamond met with 32 prompts complete. On to 40!!!

I just published my 16th article earlier today, and i am now half-way to my SC goal of 32 articles. Its going great so far(we'll see what the prompts are tomorrow, and i hope your Summer Camp is going great as well!

Wow, y'all! After the next installment, Broken Dulcet is done--but Lapis's adventures are not over. They continue in Re-cast, where a chaser's job is never done, especially in service to a new leadership rising from the ashes of the old.
I didn't think it would be this quick, but the characters had other ideas :) Expect Re-cast to start sometime in September, giving me a chance to get the cover and such done (I mean, I'm in the middle of Summer Camp, then I'll be judging, and I have a WIP coming out in October. I need a bit of time!).
Thanks to all the readers of Lapis's adventures so far. Because of you, I continue to write. Seriously. I know there are people out there who enjoy her story, and that keeps me going through all my creative endeavors.

Battle of the Glass Sea

A cataclysmic war between a fantasy world and a technologically advanced invader (think GATE, but with actual resistance), with paladins destroying tanks, automata and golems getting obliterated by drone strikes, and ending with THREE tactical nukes being detonated over a singing desert, and both factions fighting to a stalemate; a tense cold war between the two factions now prevails.

River Rush - Summer Camp Update 2
July of this year marks a few important milestones for Shiftrex and I here on WA:
- My 6th WAnniversary (which was yesterday (July 15th) and I missed it)
- Isekai's 6th birthday
- My 7th! Summer Camp
- And one crazy milestone that we've been waiting forever to reach!
Isekai officially broke 1,000,000 words last week! 4 days before Isekai turned 6, we finally hit the craziest milestone. This doesn't mean we're done, far from it, and you can continue to expect some crazy work in the years to come.
Summer Camp is also going swimmingly. 17 articles submitted with a handful drafted in the background. If you want to follow my journey and see some of the newest articles that made us hit the big word count milestone, check out my SC hub.
Thank you to everyone who has kept pushing us over the years to reach such an incredible number. I still cannot believe we've made it this far.

(Late) June Recap & July Updates (New Website!!)
June was... an interesting month. I feel like it was more productive than May due to the new project I started (more on that later)! Here's what I had achieved in June:
Started Summer Camp prep
Wrote lore for magic in Ysteria and Mytharae and flying islands in Mytharae
Made progress with my visual novel, "Audio Call"
Started work on a visual novel series about some characters in Auxul
Wrote an entry for Summer Camp

As for Summer Camp, it's going...alright. While I've run out of steam by the second week, I still managed to make it halfway to Copper! Check out my entries here!

I'm off to a slow start but that's fairly normal for me, because I spend a lot of time doing like... support for stuff I didn't know I was going to write. For example, I'm about to start an article about a character with a bunch of kids, but first I had to figure out what he looks like, and then I had to figure out where he is, which then led me to doing a major CSS overhaul of the maps (not done yet, but mostly functional) and now that that's more or less in place...
Now I can write the article.
Anyway, as usual, focusing on my #DarkFantasy world, but I'm still looking for an excuse to touch on my more bright and shiny world as well. We'll see if I can find one.

Summer Camp Update!

Summer Camp has been an absolute blast so far; in one word: AMAZING!
I've been using this creative chaos as the perfect excuse to dive deeper into my dark fantasy, post-apocalyptic world: Crux Umbra. If you've mostly been following me for Kena'an, you might’ve noticed fewer updates there lately, but don't worry, it’s not forgotten! I’m just wandering through ash-covered ruins for a bit.
So far, I’ve written 9 articles, which means I’ve hit the first milestone and earned that shiny Copper badge! My official goal is Gold, but between us... I'm quietly chasing that sweet, sweet Diamond!

I also tweaked my homepage a little during the Summer Camp prep. I now have a featured section at the bottom, just above the community section. :smile: About every week or so, or when I remember to, I’ll feature a new article I like from the community! I wanted to give some love back to the community.
I also created a forum post listing all the previously featured items, along with my blurb about them.

Day 3 of Summer Camp: A dish served in every household.
SO! This was a tough one, as a foodie that is. I love food, I love food so much I cook it whenever I am not eating fast food and I am a picky taster. I have to spice and it I have to make sure everything is perfect.
So what the heck is Weissknochla? It's actually inspired by a dish I grew up on that my mother used to make, that she learned from her mother and so on. It's a traditional dish that I took have made numerous times, but I, of course, have overcomplicated the heck out of.
So I decided to make it last night, but dumbed down and simplified to fit in my world of Belle Epoque wonderment and I would hope that I did so with this.
I don't want to share the actual name because I am sure many people will claim I just copied the recipe off some online site instead of making my own - I know how you are, internet!
But this is a nice, warm stew. Thick, creamy, chickeny...

Overall, whew! What a fun two days it's already been for Summer Camp, and it's not even July yet! So many folks are bringing incredible energy to the event, producing incredible work, and being wonderfully uplifting to each other.

The Lucian Faith within my world of Ezre is one of my FAVORITE things I haven't written about yet - mainly because of how weird religion works in my world.
So, the thing is, there are no gods - but there are these animistic spirits called DIUM, check them out here - Dium who exist and are the manifestation of all the natural processes of the world and thus, magic is just the mortal manipulation of these processes by making deals with the spirits. So! How does faith work with that?
Well, they are teachers - scholars and such - who help ensure that the big spirit from another plane of existence doesn't scam you out of anything important, like your life or free will of that 20$ that gram-gram gave you for christmas. All the important things in life.

The past few months have been SO BUSY with work that I've been completely ignoring World Anvil, and worldbuilding at all! But, July is looking pleasantly quiet for a change, so I've decided to take part in #SummerCamp after all! My world is still looking pretty bare bones, so hopefully this will help add a good bit of flavour.
