Freedom in Chains

I am your freedom in chains.

You can see the world with my eyes now

While I remain blinded by you.

You can ride in safety through the world at last

For I shall never leave you.

Your freedom comes at the cost of mine

And I will pay it freely.

I am your freedom in chains.

Through me you can live a little of your own life,

Not the life another planned for you.

I had my plans for my own life;

You burned them.

Burned them with your eyes

And with your beauty and your scorching power.

I am your freedom in chains.

I can never walk free again.

I am chained to you by duty, oath,

And a love that is stronger than both.

But I swear, my love,

That I will never weigh you down with my chains.
