Leviathos, the Dread of the Deep

Beneath the storm-tossed seas of Draethor lies the domain of Leviathos, the Dread of the Deep. His realm is the Abyssal Sea, a vast ocean of black water, where the souls of the damned drift aimlessly on ghostly ships, forever lost in the eternal storm. Leviathos is a creature of the deep, a monstrous entity whose form defies mortal comprehension. He is the terror that lurks beneath the waves, the primal fear of the unknown that has haunted sailors and explorers for eons. Leviathos’s form is titanic, a massive, twisted sea creature with a body covered in dark, scaled armor. His eyes glow a cold, eerie blue, and his mouth is filled with rows of razor-sharp teeth, capable of swallowing entire ships whole. His tentacles, each as large as a ship’s mast, coil and thrash through the water, dragging souls into the depths below.

Abyssal Sea
The Abyssal Sea is a place of endless, storm-tossed waters, where waves rise as tall as mountains and the sky is constantly filled with dark clouds and flashing lightning. Souls trapped here are forced to drift on broken, decaying ships, forever lost in the storm. The waters are cold and unforgiving, and the deeper one sinks, the more crushing the pressure becomes. The souls aboard the ships are driven mad by the isolation, the constant motion, and the ever-present threat of the abyss below.

Master of the Depths
Leviathos is a patient predator, content to wait in the depths, watching as the souls above slowly lose hope. His servants, the Drowned Wraiths, are the spirits of those who have succumbed to the ocean’s embrace, rising from the depths to drag others down into the cold, black water. Leviathos himself rarely rises from the abyss, but when he does, it is to consume whole ships and the souls aboard them, dragging them into the crushing darkness of the deep.

The Sin of Leading Others Astray
The souls sent to the Abyssal Sea are those who, in life, led others into hopeless situations—false prophets, corrupt leaders, and those who promised salvation but delivered only ruin. In Leviathos’s domain, they are lost in a stormy, endless ocean, forever drifting with no hope of finding land. Their punishment is to experience the same hopelessness they once inflicted on others, as the sea slowly drives them to despair.

The Abyssal Sea is a vast, storm-tossed ocean of black water, its depths unfathomable and its waves monstrous. The sky above is perpetually dark, with flashes of lightning illuminating the turbulent seas in brief, terrifying bursts. Souls condemned here find themselves aboard ghostly, wrecked ships that drift aimlessly, forever lost in the abyss. The waters are cold and unforgiving, and the air is filled with the constant sound of crashing waves and the distant wails of the doomed. The sea itself seems alive, swallowing entire ships without warning and spitting them back out, broken and twisted.

Inhabitants:

Leviathos’s domain is home to the Sea Serpents, massive, tentacled creatures that dwell in the darkest depths of the ocean, rising to drag souls and ships into the abyss. Drowned Wraiths, the spirits of those lost at sea, float just beneath the water’s surface, waiting to pull the unwary down into the cold, crushing depths. Krakenborn—Leviathos’s personal servants—patrol the waters, ensuring that no soul escapes the eternal ocean of despair.

Sins:

The Abyssal Sea is the final destination for those guilty of causing others to become lost, either metaphorically or literally. These souls led others into hopeless situations—cult leaders, false prophets, and those who led others astray. They now find themselves lost in a stormy, endless ocean, with no hope of finding land or safety. The constant motion of the sea drives them to despair, as their ships are torn apart time and time again, with no respite from the chaos.
