Prizes
If you're writing an RPG adventure and want the chance to win, enable Competitor mode! If you'd rather participate non-competitively, leave it off.
N.B. If you don't have Competitor mode enabled, you will not be considered (or judged) as a competitor. Check the guide to learn how.
All participants (including Rebels) will get the Adventure April participation badge! In addition to that, two Competitors will be chosen as winners: one for the Standard League and one for the Premiere League.
The winners will get the Adventure April winner badge and the

How to Enter
Write an RPG one-shot or adventure using the plot template and submit it before May 2nd! Feel free to use any RPG system you want (or make it system-agnostic), as well as any genre you want.
Step by Step Instructions
- Create a Plot article in your world and write your adventure in it (or, if you're going Rebel and writing a short story, use a Prose article).
- Make sure the article is not a draft (i.e. published) and that it's public (i.e. not private). (check the guide if you're not sure what this means)
- Submit your article before May 2nd! To do so, click the trophy button in the bottom toolbar of the article editor.
If you're writing an RPG adventure and want the chance to win,
enable Competitor mode! If you don't have Competitor mode enabled, you will not be considered for any prizes.
Check the guide to learn how.
Adjudication Process
Separate shortlists will be compiled for the Premiere and Standard Leagues by the World Anvil Team. Then, these shortlists will be judged by
Janet, professional RPG writer and World Anvil co-founder.
The winner will be announced in the Awards Ceremony on May 23rd on
our Twitch channel.
Entries will be judged on a number of criteria, including originality, presentation, and writing quality. The number of likes will not affect the chances of an article winning.
No edits of any type should be made after the submission period ends on May 2nd; we recommend you submit your article in advance to have time for last-minute fixes.

Rules & other Information
- Submissions must use the Plot Template, or the Prose Template for the Rebel goal (which will not be judged). Your article must be public and published, and created after the challenge launched in March 28th.
- Adventures can be in any format, including one-shots, long-form adventures, and solo adventures.
- The minimum wordcount is 300 words. There is no maximum wordcount.
- You can only submit one article to this challenge: Either keep the adventure self-contained in a single article, or create an index article for the adventure and submit that. If you spread your adventure over multiple articles, ensure they are all interlinked and easy to navigate.
- Only one article may be submitted per person (this does not mean one article per world, in cases where multiple authors work on a single world).
- The article must be submitted before the closing time (during the livestream on May 2nd).
- Make sure to credit any art or maps you use (even if you're the author), and that you have permission to use them.
- World Anvil retains the right to arbitrate and/or change the rules where necessary to uphold the spirit and integrity of this event and the community. We will communicate changes as necessary.
- As always, World Anvil claims no ownership over your original work.
What kind of adventure can I submit?
If you go for the Rebel goal, the answer is anything! But if you enter as an RPG writer/designer, anything that can be defined as an
RPG adventure is a valid submission. This includes:
- One-shots
- Longer adventures
- One-page adventures
- Solo RPG adventures
Other RPG materials like game rules, bestiaries, and magic item lists are not valid entries by themselves (although they can be included as part of an adventure's materials).
