Sylvan are plantfolk attuned to the nature around them. Their bodies and dress are representative of the flora they are connected to. There are sylvan of all kinds; it isn’t unusual to see flowers, vegetables, trees, fungi, and even weeds.

Biology
No one knows where the first sylvan came from. When a sylvan dies and travels beyond The Crossroads, its body and fragments of its spirit fertilize the soil where it fell. Soon, a new sylvan may take root. The plants in the area grow to form a body, filled with the fragments of their parent’s spirit. When they’re fully grown, they uproot themselves and step into the world as a fully-formed adult.
Sylvan are as diverse as the world around them. They come in all different shapes, sizes, and presentations. Some sylvan produce fruits, flowers, and other produce; others may have spines, vines, or bark. Generally, they reflect the plant or fungal life present in the place where their parent died. Older sylvan have been known to seek out places of particular natural beauty as they near the end of their lives so that the new generation can be born into splendor.
The new sylvan does not remember its parent’s life.
