Lianhua (Lee-en-hwa)

Lianhua is a large, walled fortress city located in the Jintu River Valley and is the capital city of the Lotus Empire. Large walls, towers, forts, parapets, and other defensive structures dominate the cityscape offering protection from the numerous Ashtouched monsters that freely roam much of the valley.   The city is subdivided into numerous districts, each capable of limited self-sufficiency for several weeks. Most districts are primarily residential and offer an array of basic services that allow a citizen to spend most or even all their lives in a single district without the need to leave. Some districts are more specialized. For example, several districts bordering the outer walls of Lianhua facilitate foreign trade caravans and districts than neighbor the Jintu River offer harbors for the shipping and fishing industry. Other districts specialize in manufacturing clothing and textiles, mining ore from the nearby mountain ranges, growing and harvesting food, and other necessary industries to keep the bustling city functioning. Several districts are even more notable, such as the Lotus Gardens and Conservatory, the Towering Gardens, and Baoan.
